General FAQ

01.  Does my child need dance experience to enroll in a class?

We are an affiliated school of the world-renowned Royal Academy of Dance. Students do not need experience to enroll in classes, as we will direct them into the proper level, which is designed specifically to develop a strong basic technique.

02.  Do you only offer ballet classes?

We offer dance classes in every genre: Jazz, Lyrical, Contemporary, Musical Theatre, Tap, Hip Hop, and Flamenco.

03.  Does the studio do dance competitions?

We compete in prestigious competitions such as YAGP (Youth America Grand Prix). We have a company team that is selected by auditions. This team’s focus is not only on competitions, but also on performance opportunities.

04.  How do I register my child in a class?

You can view our dance schedule here. Registration is done through our website or at the school, but we do like to help place a student in the correct level from the start, so sending an email to office@royaleballet.com is a good way to start if you are unsure.

05.  Do you offer private dance lessons?

Yes, we offer private lessons in all dance genres. You can contact us to schedule private lessons.

06.  Do you offer Adult dance lessons?

We offer Ballet and Flamenco classes for Adults. You can view our Adult Class schedule here.

07.  Can I enroll my child in the middle of a semester?

Yes, however they will not be able to participate in the June recital if they register halfway through the spring semester.

08. What performances can my child be a part of?

We have our annual Nutcracker performance in December, and a recital in June. If they are in the company, they will have numerous performance opportunities.

09. Do you offer a trial class?

Yes. Please send us an email at office@royaleballet.com to inquire about a trial class.

10. How do I know which class is the best fit for my child?

It is necessary to communicate with the office, if you are unsure of placement. We place a lot of importance in placing students in the correct level, so that they can progress and also gain self-confidence.
